Episode 4: The Cold Mom Off Gets Hot (S19E9 Gone Baby Gone)

Episode 3 "Is That Staten Island Slang?" ended with a cliff hanger, so Josh and Adam were forced to follow it up with "Gone Baby Gone" (season 19 episode 9), and folks, it is a rough one. Sheila, played by Brooke Shields, abducts little Baby Boy Doe and absconds with him to a surprisingly sunny New Hampshire where gardeners participate in 3 day trade conventions and out of state police brutality is fine and dandy. The dedicated detectives of the SVU interview a racist and a man with fake mutton chops before following the real criminals to the granite state. BBD is eventually reunited with Olivia Benson, and Sheila is mercifully shackled and removed from the SVU universe forever. This is an especially heinous episode of television.
