Interview with Michelangelo Milano - BONUS
We were fortunate enough to have been graced by the presence of Michelangelo Milano this week, who dedicated listeners will know as Patrick Binder, the boyfriend of Taryn Manning's character, Larissa in Season 12, Episode 12 "Possessed." Not only does he appear in one of just TWO EPISODES OF SVU TO RECEIVE A PERFECT 10.0 FROM US, but he plays a huge part in what might be the most memorable scene we've ever seen in the history of this show. We had a great chat with Michelangelo, who told of his life's path to a random apartment in New York where he just so happened to grapple for hours with the older brother in Home Alone (who was wearing nothing but a creepy mask and a pair of whitey-tighties) and where he's been since.
MMB Movie Club 00: The Heartbreak Kid (1972)
Who loves ya, baby? That's right, the Munchie Boys do. This month we did an entire bonus Movie Club entry for all of our audience, not just the Munchies on Patreon who get one of these a month.
And we didn't do just any old movie. We did the anti-rom-com that might just have been the origin of cringe comedy, Elaine May's 1972 masterpiece The Heartbreak Kid, starring Munch alums Charles Grodin and Cybill Shepherd, along with two different Academy Award nominees for their work in this film, Eddie Albert and Jeannie Berlin. Did those two ever earn their nominations here. Wow. Great film. Come along for a blast.
Econofoods! - Interview with Johnny Pemberton
We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you a very special installment of Munch My Benson.
Johnny Pemberton was kind enough to spend far too much of his time with Adam and Josh, discussing his life, career, one-man show, and guest appearance on the Season 23 episode of SVU “One More Tale Of Two Victims” which we talked about back in MMB 184 - He’s Never Going to Get the Cum Blankie Back. He also talks a bit about his upcoming roles in the highly anticipated Amazon Prime series Fallout, what could have been with the Bo and Cheyenne Superstore spinoff that NBC passed on, and his upcoming leading man role in the dark comedy Mermaid from visionary Butt Boy director Tyler Cornack.
BONUS EPISODE: What Did the Season Five Writers Room Have Against Mothers? (with Special Contributor Natalie)
Josh sits down with special contributor Natalie, who graciously dives into the themes of Season Five, chiefly just what had happened to the members of the SVU Season Five Writers Room to make them devote more than half a season to how horrible moms can be? Move over, men, because the damage moms do in this season is IMPRESSIVE.
BONUS EPISODE: Matthew Wilson, Creator of SVU: The RPG
The Munchie Boys sat down for a delightful chat with Matthew Wilson, creator of the positively sublime game SVU: The RPG, diving into the background and inspiration for the only video game you should all be spending your time playing.
You can find the game at: https://svuroleplay.com/
Episode 151.1 - The We Biffed Sabrina Getting Arrested for Getting an Abortion Addendum with Special Guest Isabel (S9E3 Impulsive)
Sometimes Adam and Josh are idiots. In this instance, they glossed over a PRETTY MAJOR plot point in S9E3 Impulsive because they were bored with how SVU generally deals with abortion, totally missing the VERY PROBLEMATIC moment where the Unit essentially arrests Sabrina the Teenage Witch for aborting her rapist's baby. Thankfully, our Munchie Isabel was there to hold us to account in this bonus convo.
